Day 1

Start your journey at JR Otsu Station before heading to Share Kitchen Hako for a fermentation lecture and lunch, where you’ll learn the fundamentals behind Japan’s rich preservation techniques.

Then visit Kawashima Sake Brewery for a guided tour and tasting session, followed by a stop at Arenon Foods for more flavor exploration.

Next, get hands-on at Tenpei Kimchi and try your hand at crafting this tangy Korean-Japanese favorite. The day ends with a fermented food full-course dinner and an overnight stay at Racine Home Harie.

Day 2

Start the day with a fermented breakfast, then visit Oumi Vinegar to join a unique dressing-making experience.

Continue with a funazushi tasting at a historic local shop and a scenic walk through terraced rice fields, capped off with lunch at Tanada House.

Before wrapping up, enjoy a bit of shopping at the local roadside station, Fujiki no Sato Adogawa. The tour ends with your return to JR Otsu Station, leaving you satisfied, curious, and maybe just a little pickled.
